I joined the CAHNRS news team in 2001 to support WSU’s Safe Food Initiative, and to provide communication services for the college and Extension on the west side of the state. In addition to being a liaison with news media, I write for college and university publications and produce video programming for satellite broadcast and video stream distribution.
My background includes 20 years of representing a variety of agencies and issues to the news media. I’ve worked on such complex issues as health care financing, resource conservation, state legislative issues, and most recently public transit and transportation issues in the Puget Sound region. Prior to that I worked for 15 years as a broadcast manager, news reporter and editor in the greater Seattle area.
While I'm originally from Spokane, I've lived in the Puget Sound region for 35 years, nearly 30 of them in Seattle. My wife Mary is a founder and co-owner of Panda Photo Lab in Seattle, a commercial lab offering a full range of digital and film photographic services. We have one grown daughter who lives in Shoreline.
