Precision Ag Conference Set

PULLMAN, Wash. -- The 3rd Western Precision Agriculture Conference will be held Feb. 15-16, 2000, at the DoubleTree Hotel, Pasco, Wash.     

The conference is for producers of all crops in the western United States and Canada, including farm suppliers, agri-chemical businesses, bankers, financial consultants, landowners, natural resource planners, policy makers, researchers and field agents.

     The program includes:

     --Keynote Speech on "Where is Precision Ag Going?"

     --Examples of successful teaming among local growers and suppliers

     --Data analysis and soil science review and explanations

     --Yield monitoring fundamentals and how to handle the data

     --Software demonstrations with hands-on computer opportunities

     --Systems approaches to site-specific management for row crops, permanent crops and dryland crops

     --Integration of data into decisions

     --Remote Sensing:  new satellites for precision ag

     --GPS technologies; sensor development

     --Legal Issues (Do you own your precision ag data?)     

The conference is sponsored by Washington State University's Center for Precision Agricultural Systems.
