Lind Field Day, June 13

LIND, Wash. -- The Washington State University Lind Field Day will be held Thursday, June 13, at the university's Dryland Research Station north of Lind.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., the tour at 9 a.m.

WSU and USDA-ARS scientists will discuss research progress on soil quality studies for dry crop lands; breeding tall club wheat for emergence; spring wheat breeding; winter wheat breeding; dryland and irrigated cropping systems research; and Russian thistle control in wheat.

A no-host lunch and program will begin at noon. The program will include award presentations and brief reports on the Washington legislature, the WSU College of Agriculture and Home Economics, the Washington Association of Wheat Growers and the Washington Wheat Commission.

The noon program will be followed by an ice cream social hosted by the WSU Alumni Development Office.

The Lind Field Day is free and open to the public. Pesticide recertification credits are available.
