Lind Field Day, June 10
LIND, Wash. -- The Washington State University Lind Field Day will be held Thursday, June 10, at the university's Dryland Research Station north of Lind.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m., the tour at 9 a.m.
WSU and USDA-Agricultural Research Service scientists will discuss research progress on minimum tillage summer fallow; long-term dryland and irrigated cropping systems studies; spring wheat breeding; winter wheat breeding; and club wheat breeding.
A no-host lunch and program will begin at noon. The program will include
- A tribute to Masami Dick' Nagamitsu, who served39 years at the Lind Station
- Introduction of new WSU faculty members
- Brief reports by the Washington Association of Wheat Growers, Washington Wheat Commission, Washington State Legislature, and the WSU College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences.
The noon program will be followed by an ice cream social hosted by the WSU Alumni and Development Office.
The Lind Field Day is free and open to the public. Pesticide recertification credits are available.
