Small Farms Business Planning Course Scheduled for Tri-Cities

PASCO, Wash. – “Tilling the Soil of Opportunity,” a course in business planning for current and aspiring small-scale farmers, ranchers and other agricultural businesses will be offered in Tri-Cities beginning in February.

The course is designed for those who are operating or interested in starting a small farm or agricultural business. Classes will cover all aspects of business planning, marketing, finances and legal issues, and participants will write a business plan as they progress through the course.

Classes will be held on Wednesday evenings from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. from Feb. 20 through May 7, 2008. Registration for the full course is $200.

Students successfully completing the course will be eligible for three continuing education credits. Academic credit for completing the course also can be requested from Washington State University and the University of Idaho.
