Lind Field Day, June 14
LIND, Wash. – The annual field day of Washington State University’s Lind Dryland Research Station is scheduled Thursday, June 14.
Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.; the tour at 9 a.m.
WSU, USDA Agricultural Research Service and Oregon State University scientists will discuss fertility management for late-planted winter wheat, Camelina as an alternative oilseed crop, spring wheat breeding, winter wheat breeding, club wheat breeding and root-lesion nematodes.
A hosted lunch and program will begin at noon. The program will include brief reports by leaders from Washington’s wheat industry, the Washington State Legislature and the WSU College of Agricultural, Human, and Natural Resource Sciences. Several new WSU faculty members will provide overviews of their research plans.
The noon program will be followed by an ice cream social.
The Lind Field Day is free and open to the public. Washington and Oregon pesticide credits have been requested along with Certified Crop Adviser credits.
The station is located about four miles northwest of Lind on Experiment Station Road. See map below.
